On Tuesday 11th June the Ladies of Ayrshire Luncheon took place in the beautiful Lagavulin Suite at The Gailes Hotel, Irvine, where just under £2000 was raised.

Over 150 fabulous ladies were welcomed to a fabulous lunch followed by fabulous entertainment and fabulous shopping. Yes that’s right it was a fabulous day as we celebrated Hansel being Fifty and Fabulous!

Our Director of Client Services, Blanche Nicolson, gave a very emotive speech about the history of Hansel. Blanche’s sister Lindy, who was born with a learning disability, prompted her parents, Isobel and Tom Murdoch, to found Hansel to secure her future and that of her peers. 1963 was a truly remarkable year as a new chapter started in the life of Blanche’s family....Hansel began and the organisation has never looked back! Thanks to Blanche - her words touched everyone in the room and it is hoped that she will have the opportunity to share this story with Hansel supporters in the future.

Thanks to Janette and the team at Gailes Hotel for the delicious lunch. Thanks also to Helen from Scentsations of Troon for offering our ladies a great shopping experience and giving each of them a beautiful table gift to take home and our thanks also for the beautiful table centres donated once again by Scarlets Florists in Kilmarnock - thanks so much Anne for your very kind and generous support

Entertainment from Nicola Cassels, of Ayr, had us all in awe with her renditions of “Bring Him Home” and “Time To Say Goodbye”. We were very priviledged to enjoy her company and are sure she is on a great journey to success. Our day was long from over as the fabulous Isobel Rutter took to the stage with her incredible life story. From the naive young girl from the rural village of Tiree, through to her life changing battles with cancer and finally fufiling her dreams of being a performer, her story had every lady in the room crying with tears of laughter!

We hope all our guests had a wonderful afternoon and left feeling FABULOUS!
