Scott Goes The Extra Mile For Hansel

Scott Brown proved he is a real superman by completing the Virgin London Marathon wearing a 50lb back pack.
Ayrshire's very own man of steel finished the 26.2 mile course in 4 hours 45 minutes, raising a fabulous £2,000 for Hansel.
30 year old Scott is no stranger to fitness challenges, having become the first European over the finish line in America's Tough Mudder Challenge in November, billed as "probably the toughtest event on the planet".
However, even he admitted that the course was heavy going with the additional weight - the equivalent of carrying a young child on his back!
Scott, a personal trainer who was formerly in the armed forces, said that "doing the marathon was actually one of the hardest things I have ever done as I damaged my hip in training. The first 10 miles were fine but after that I felt every single pound of the weight.”
Despite public fears over safety at the event in the wake of the Boston bombings Scott said the atmosphere was amazing. “The crowd really kept me going and I have never been happier to cross a finish line. I didn’t give security worries a second thought during the run, I am ex-army and that was the kind of challenge we were up against every day.”
Scott, who runs SBF Boot Camps in Dundonald, took a few days to recover from the marathon as he lost a toe nail and ended up with a few blisters. Now on the mend he is onto his next challenge – 200 sit-ups a day for the month of May.
