Recognised for excellence!

All care services in Scotland are regulated by The Care Inspectorate who carry out regular inspections and award grades based on their findings. All Hansel services routinely achieve grades of 5 (very good) but we were all delighted when our North Ayrshire Supported Living Service recently achieved grade 6 (excellent) for both Quality of Care and Support and Quality of Management and Leadership.
Customers and families had already told us that Gail Annall and her team provide an excellent and innovative service. So, we already knew what good use they are making of multimedia to support customers to take control of their lives and assistive technologies to promote greater independence while maintaining safety. We already knew they had fully embraced the challenges and opportunities of personalisation. We already knew all of that but it's great to hear others agree!
It was a great bonus for Gail and the NASL team to have our customers' views endorsed by the regulator and they are working on sharing their recognised excellent practices so that many others beyond North Ayrshire will benefit from them.
