Kind-hearted customers of Lowmac Waste and Recycling took part in a company golf tournament in aid of Hansel at Dundonald Links in Irvine recently, raising over £5000!
Despite damp weather over seventy golfers took part in the team event at Dundonald Links in Irvine.
Teams of four battled it out to claim the overall prize of best team score and individual prize of ‘Best Net Score’ but there were various competition prizes available throughout the day including ‘Nearest the Pin at the 6th + 11th’ and ‘Longest Drive at the 18th’.
The Professionals at Dundonald even got involved with the challenge of trying to beat them over the 11th hole.
Practical goodie bags, featuring tees, golf balls, soft drinks and chocolate bars, were also available to purchase prior to play.
Following the golf teams enjoyed a club house meal with lots of raffle and auction prizes on offer, including a striking garden feature created from a tonne of recycled glass, all in aid of Hansel.
John Trainor, Sales, Lowmac said, “This is the second year we’ve organised the tournament as it was so successful last year, our inaugural year, with the winning team Kingstone, keen to retain the trophy. Many of our customers are keen golfers and it’s a great way of getting out of the office but still networking. The support we have received from Hansel has been absolutely fantastic, we could not have achieved the level of success on our golf day without their help. We’re pleased to be supporting a local charity and the good work Hansel deliver in the community.”
Members of Hansel’s Fundraising Team also helped out on the day. Sheila McLean, Fundraising Manager, added, “It’s great to see a golf day so well supported as this and the teams’ camaraderie on the course was terrific. We’re very grateful to all Lowmac’s generous customers for their support.”
With offices in Ayr, Irvine and Glasgow, Lowmac provides a full range of waste management services from its recycling centres advising clients throughout Scotland.
