Hansel Day is icing on the cake for visitors!

Hansel celebrated its 55th anniversary by hosting a Bake Sale at the charity’s headquarters at Broadmeadows Estate in Symington.

The event took place on Hansel Day which is held on the last Friday in April to raise awareness of our work in the community.

Staff, customers and visitors were joined by volunteers from Teleperformance who helped serve the fantastic range of cakes and local Prestwick musician, Scott Nicol, provided the entertainment.

A simultaneous Bake Sale was also held in our gift shop, Hi Street, in Prestwick where staff and volunteers were joined by another local Prestwick musician, Ken O’Hara.

Hansel was delighted to see so many people attend and we are so grateful for the many donations people handed in – Ayrshire has a lot of talented bakers!

We are also very thankful to our musicians and the team from Teleperformance from Kilmarnock, who gave up their time to support us by selling raffle tickets and bringing in lots of home baking, and also the local businesses such as Buzzworks Holdings and Barry Whalen Funeral Directors who also brought in cakes for us, along with all our staff and friends who took the time to do some baking!

We can’t quite believe its 55 years ago since the charity began and there have been so many great and positive changes since then. We are grateful to all our supporters, customers and staff who continue to make this possible.
