We were delighted to be the chosen charity for this year’s Graeme Obree Ayrshire Sportive. Now in its third year, the Sportive has gone from strength to strength, with numbers growing and cyclists travelling from all over Scotland and beyond to participate. This year there were over 300 participants, many of them raising sponsorship for Hansel.
There is still time to donate and raise funds for Hansel. You can donate by texting BIKE32 and the amount you'd like to donate to 70070 e.g. text BIKE32 £5 to 70070 to donate £5. Or go to http://www.justgiving.com/hanselfoundation</a> Thanks for your support!
The 10 mile Family Sportive took place on Saturday 3rd August with Graeme leading the kids and their families along the Ayr route. The group faced a few challenges along the way, not least the wind along the shore front but they persevered were well rewarded at the finish line with lots of fun activities.
Sunday saw the more serious cyclists face a 48 mile or 68 mile route through the South Ayrshire countryside. It was all great fun, as you can see from the photos we've posted, but there were a few personal bests beaten this year - race times are available from firstname.lastname@example.org
Our thanks go to the team at Maximise Sport and to Graeme Obree for all his support and to everyone who took part - it was great meeting many of you over the weekend and we look forward to seeing you all soon.
