Ayrshire NFU Plough On For Hansel

Last updated: 10.15am, Monday 29th April 2013 by

Ayrshire members of the National Farmers Union joined forces with Ayrshire Vintage Tractor and Machinery Club to host a supper evening at Carlton Hotel in Prestwick in aid of Hansel.

The event, which featured speaker, local farmer Jack Ramsay from Millerston Farm in Mauchline, was held to celebrate the centenary of NFU in Scotland.

Christine Cuthbert, Regional Manager of NFU Scotland, and David Harvey, President of the Tractor and Machinery Club, presented a cheque for £668.27 to Sheila McLean. The money was raised from a raffle on the evening where guests were invited to leave a donation in envelopes.

Hansel has enjoyed magnificent support from the farming community over the years and this latest donation is greatly appreciated. It will be used to progress the ‘Our Space’ Appeal which will see the opening of a purpose built facility offering a range of opportunities at Broadmeadows later this year.
