Join a Career with Purpose at Hansel – Make Every Day Matter

Are you ready to make a real difference in people’s lives while growing your career in a supportive and inspiring environment?

Hansel is a leading social care charity based in Ayrshire, proudly supporting people with learning disabilities and additional needs to lead full, empowered, and active lives in their communities. Since 1963, we’ve been champions of inclusion, dignity, and choice – and we’re just getting started.

Now, we’re offering a fantastic opportunity to join our dedicated team at Red Rose House, our vibrant Respite Service, as a Full-Time, Permanent Coordinator.

About the Role

This is your chance to step into a rewarding leadership role where no two days are ever the same. Working closely with the Service Manager and Assistant Manager, you’ll help shape unforgettable respite experiences for our customers – ensuring their individual choices, interests, and aspirations are at the heart of everything we do.

You’ll also play a key part in leading and supporting a committed staff team, helping them thrive while maintaining the highest standards of care. As part of your role, you’ll contribute to our local emergency on-call rota, ensuring continuous, quality support across the service.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone with a passion for person-centred care and the drive to make a real impact. You’ll bring:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex health needs
  • SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • A strong understanding of current social care legislation and best practice
  • Experience in residential settings and developing person-centred care plans and risk assessments
  • Confidence using IT systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

Bonus: If you have experience supervising a team, that’s a plus—but not essential.

Why Join Hansel?

  • Be part of a respected charity with over 60 years of impact
  • Work in a positive, values-driven environment
  • Receive ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Help shape services that truly empower people
  • Join a warm, inclusive team that genuinely cares

Apply now online at hansel.org.uk and be part of something extraordinary. At Hansel, you’re not just starting a job—you’re building a career that changes lives.
