At NASL we provide supports to a number of people living in their own homes across north Ayrshire. Our supports provide each person whatever assistance they need, to live as independently as they can, be part of their community, and build and maintain relationships and friendships.
We enable the people we support to have the best possible life they can. Most supports are carried out on a 1:1 basis but we will also support individuals to meet up with friends and join in with group activities. The person may be going on a trip to the cinema, meeting up with a friend to go swimming, bowling or for something to eat, or music group. Team members may support more than one person in a day and every day is different. You will enable every person to make choices and create opportunities to do the things they want to do.
Most roles involve working with individuals on a 1:1 basis but whichever service new team members join, they will be part of a small team and will regularly support the same people. Team members will build strong relationships and get to know the people they support well. All team members are supported by a service Coordinator and will meet up regularly with other people working as part of their team.
Our rotas are created around the individual needs of the people we support. This means we have a range of shift patterns available including community supports, day and evening supports and sleep-overs. We also have a responder service who responder to three customers during the night when required. We offer full time or part time working and we carefully match all team members to particular individuals we support depending on their skills, experience, knowledge, availability and interests.
