Salary: £12 per hour
Requirements: Driving License required
Hours: Various hours available
Location: Based in south Ayrshire communities
We support a large number of adults, living in their own homes across Ayrshire. The aim of these services is to give people whatever support they need, to live as independently as they can, be part of their community, have meaningful activities and build and maintain relationships and friendships.
We want the people we support to have the best possible life they can. Most supports are carried out on a 1:1 basis but you will also support people to meet up with friends and join in with group activities. They may be going on a coach trip to the theatre, meeting up with a friend to go swimming or bowling, or attending a work placement, college class or music group. You may support more than one person in a day and every day is different. You will enable people to make choices and create opportunities for people to do the things they want to do. Each persons’ support is tailored to meet their individual needs and lifestyle. Some people need support with all areas of their lives whilst others may just need someone to help them to do their shopping, cook their meals and manage their money.
Most of the people we support use public transport but some do have their own mobility cars.
Most roles involve working with individuals on a 1:1 basis but whichever service you join, you will be part of a small team and will regularly support the same people. You will build relationships and get to know the people you support well. You will be supported by your service coordinator and will meet up regularly with other people in your team.
Our rotas are created around the individual needs of the people we support. This means we have a range of shift patterns available including 12-hour shifts, waking night shifts, sleep-overs, and 8-hour shifts. We offer full time or part time working.
Experience in delivering formal social care supports or personal caring experience is desirable but not essential.
