The Courtyard is based within the Broadmeadows Estate, Symington and is home to 11 residents with learning disabilities and a variety of health care needs.  Our committed team works closely with our residents to support their health care needs as well as supporting them to live their lives in a way which reflects their individual choices, interests, wishes and aspirations.

We are currently looking for a Sessional Support Worker to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for experienced Support Workers looking to take on a new challenge. If you believe every person has something unique to offer and you have a genuine passion for making a difference in people's lives we want to hear from you.

Shift patterns are day shift - 8am to 8pm, 10am to 10pm and night shift 8pm to 8am.

Other essential criteria for the post include:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic IT skills
  • Excellent people skills, good team worker and problem solver
  • An enthusiastic attitude to developing skills in Social Care
  • The ability to accept peoples’ differences and treat everyone as equals
  • The ability to support people in a person-centred way to offer choice and promote inclusion.

  • Candidates must be 18 years old or over for insurance purposes

The following criteria are also desirable but not essential:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Understanding of social care legislation and best practice
  • Experience of contributing effectively to support plans and risk assessments
  • A Social Care qualification or equivalent but there is opportunity to gain a relevant SVQ qualification in Health and Social Care.

These posts are considered to be Regulated Work with Adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007.
