Location: Red Rose House, Stevenston
An opportunity has arisen for a full-time permanent Service Manager in our Short Break/Respite Service, Red Rose House. Working together with the Operations Lead Manager the successful applicant will be accountable for the continual improvement of this vibrant, friendly and welcoming service which offers supported holidays and time away from home for short breaks for up to 8 people, to take part in exciting activities or a have relaxing holiday with a small group of friends. Guests enjoy a range of planned activities in and around Ayrshire.
The Service Manager will provide management support to the staff team and take the lead in the implementation of the service development plan; ensuring compliance with service standards and regular reporting to the Care Inspectorate; and support all aspects of financial management relating to the service.
The successful applicant will have:
- Active registration with Scottish Social Services Council
- SVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care and a relevant management qualification (or be willing to work towards this)
- Minimum three years line management experience in a complex social care service, meeting all regulatory and registration requirements
- Demonstrated management experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and associated support needs, using a person-centred approach
- A positive leadership approach
- Flexibility regarding hours of work and an ability to solve problems
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
The Service Manager role will involve participating in the service’s on-call rota, providing out–of-hours support to team colleagues and therefore the successful applicant must have a large degree of flexibility.
The preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Record Update.
