Everyone has the right to consider employment as part of their lifestyle. A workplace offers another network of support and friendship and a wage packet brings with it increased choice and self-respect.
These are valid and achievable goals for people who live with disabilities and long term health conditions. Hansel supports over 200 people each year to explore employment as a lifestyle choice.
Hansel delivers Work Choice, a government programme which offers people with disabilities support to gain employability skills, to access, and to sustain, paid employment.
Through Work Choice we provide work placements in partnership with a wide range of Ayrshire businesses. We can also access support for people who aim to be self-employed. Hansel also has three supported businesses – Hansel Laundry, Lindy’s Tearoom and our Grounds Maintenance Service – which provide paid employment and work experience opportunities.
