Local people, family and friends had a fantastic day out at the Shawburn Fun Day, which was held in the Baird Centre at Hansel’s headquarters in Symington on Thursday (7th of July) raising a massive £1,260!
Visitors enjoyed a great programme of entertainment including live music, stalls, bingo, a quiz and a raffle, with prizes including a two night stay at the Glasgow Hilton and an Apollo Switch hybrid boy’s bicycle, a fun photo booth with props so visitors could dress up and be a rock star for their 15 minutes of fame, an opportunity to tuck into a tempting array of delicious home baking and browse the craft and bottle stalls.
Residents of Shawburn House organised the event themselves to raise funds for new garden furniture and for a planned Christmas outing to see Mamma Mia in Edinburgh.
Centrally located in Prestwick, Shawburn House is a permanent home to nine people living with learning difficulties, supporting them to be part of the local community, realise their full potential and achieve their ambitions.
