Hansel said a massive thank you to big-hearted Sainsbury's in Prestwick staff and shoppers this week after receiving a donation of £7,316!
Since Hansel was chosen by customers as the store's Local Charity of the year last July the team at Sainsbury's have worked tirelessly to raise funds for us, organising a wide range of events - from bag packing and in store concerts to breakfasts with Santa and bike rides.
Not only that, they also lent their support to our fundraising events, even braving the foaming waters of the River Tay during our white water rafting event and taking part in our Mud Run at Catrine House.
The last awareness weekend event in store featured bag packing and a team of talented singers busking for their customers and it was a great way to round off the year. Not only was the in store busking a great show, it also gave the Sainsbury's team and customers the opportunity to meet some of the volunteers from Hansel who work so hard behind the scenes to raise the much needed funds - including the very worthy Hansel Community Superhero winner, singer songwriter Scott Nicol from Prestwick.
Debbie Campbell from Fundraising was presented with the bumper cheque by Claire Smith, the store's Community Colleague at a presentation in the Prestwick store on Wednesday 22nd June 2016.
