Festival of Living 2019
You are invited to join in the fun at Hansel’s Festival of Living at Broadmeadows Estate in Symington. We would love customers, families, friends, and local people to come along and take part in what is going to be a fantastic event.
The event, which runs from 1-4pm on Thursday 16th May, will include a photography exhibition, nail-painting and hand massages from talented duo Jasie Hands. The police, the fire brigade and the ice cream van will be there.
There will also be music from DJ Chris and a chance to belt out favourite numbers at the karaoke stand.
The celebrations are part of national Learning Disability Week which this year is based around the theme of community. In keeping with the community theme, Lindy’s tearoom will be serving Communiteas – delicious afternoon teas and hotdogs.
In addition Ayrshire College and Ayrshire Involvement Network will be hosting stalls and there will be a chance to meet canine Megan the greyhound from Therapets, a volunteer service which organises visits by dogs to hospitals and care homes and Cooper from Give A Dog A Bone which supports people to have a rescue pet companion.
We hope that the sun will shine and everyone can get outside and enjoy the grounds.
Our customers have organised this day themselves and it’s a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase all their talents and for people to learn more about the work that is being done at Hansel to support people with disabilities in the area.
