Report by Alan Cameron
The Festival of Living 2017 went really well. The weather was great....the sun shone on us. All the planning was worthwhile....if we had not done this it would not have run so smoothly.
I really enjoyed the police and the coast guard helicopter was exciting as they came down low and we saw the winch man waving to us. The activity group at Connect had made a well done sign in the shape of a surf board as this was the crew that saved the surfer from the sea recently. Thanks to the group who did that for us.
The Fire Brigade and the Community Action were great and gave us a lot of useful information. I have booked a Fire Safety Check in my house.
The ice cream van was kept busy....Gillian and I got a free ice cream! Lindy’s was busy with afternoon teas. Jasie hands were there along with the advocacy groups. Gemma was singing there and in The Baird.
DM2 were the DJ’s and made the atmosphere brilliant.
Thanks to all the community organisations who came along (there are too many to mention) and help us celebrate Learning Disability Week.
